If you desire for one of two reasons to control the cycle of your basset female you can do so by giving her a Hog Laxative, powder form (one teaspon) every other day for 3 doses. If she does not begin to cycle then, repeat 3 consecutive days. This will control cycling whether you want to get her through the period prior to a big hunt or you have a date you would like pups whelped. Large kennels use this method to assure puppies for christmas time when kennels receive a bonus for puppies. You can purchase the laxative in any farm store.
