I had the HONOR of owning a little Black and White basset male called SPANKY XXVII!!!!..1990-2001...I've had several rabbit hounds of all breeds and types..By far the best rabbit hound I've had the honor to walk in the field with....A once in a life time hound...I was smart enough to realize That when he was still alive!..He and I shared some of the grea-*test*-('") moment in my life together!!!He's a legend in the Early years of the AHBA and his offspring still have been a force to recon with..He was FIRST and FOREMOST a HUNTING RABBIT HOUND...SECOND TO NONE!!!!! He CAME ,He SAW, HE CONQUERED!!!

:roll: Funny how much better them Hounds get after they been dead for Ten years or so. Old Gunner was better than Spanky, at least he came when you called him. I will say though I made the best shot I ever made on a cottontail running in front of Ole Spanker. He was still pounding him after the other hounds tried to make you think he had went to ground. ( He had a habbit of doing that ) He came up out of a steep canyon from my left to my right with Spanker just driving him. I slapped him with a load of #8,s after swinging as far as a right handed guy can swing. He rolled ass over tea kettle and before the smoke cleared Ole Spanker was looking at me like what the heck did you do that for. He was a heck of a dog but he ain't worth mush anymore , he's been dead for years. :lol:
