the most exciting thing ever
We took the dogs out to the beagle club today. It was the perfect time of day, it had rained a few hours earlier and the temp was coming down. When we got there Leo instantly found rabbits, it seemed they were everywhere. Anyway, all of a sudden we hear this strange barking coming from another direction. Not a full on BARK but one of those barks like "hey guys, I think i've got something give me a minute" but Leo was off in another direction barking loud and clear. IT WAS MELVIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was loud enough that someone other than us could hear it, even above Leos roar. It was so exciting. We thought it might be a one time thing, but Melvin went off and found 2 other tracks after that. He gets all excited and over runs it, loses it, but he doesn't give up. Eventually he finds the track but it'd be too cold to open on so he'd track it and once or twice he got the rabbit going again, and himself. WOW I think it might actually happen...

Congradulations Ben keep up the hard and frustrating work it will all pay off in the end. I know first hand what you are going through. Keep feeding him those rabbits and good luck and i'll see you at a trial this fall.
