Trying to start new club in Maryland
Hi All,
I'm trying to start a new AHBA club in Maryland - the club would use the Maryland Beagle Club for it's hunts. Hopefully four a year.
I need to find four to six other Maryland basset people to be part of the group that gets this started. There are several positions that have to be filled before we can apply.
Will mean: Not a lot of work; but a ton of fun plus more hunts in the south
If you are interested in helping me get this started (being a member of this new club), please send me a personal email (susancolson@earthlink.net) OR post here with your name, phone and email.
Thanks so much - I hope there are A LOT of Maryland/Virginia/DC Basset people on this forum!
Susan, if the beagle club is willing, you can have them become a chartered club using thier current officers. this way you can get thngs started. Erie Canal Beagle Club here in Indiana is set up in this manner so that we can host hunts for the AHBA
Good luck, and if you have any questons feel free to yell
WOW! Talk about a path of least resistance. Thank you for that idea - PERFECTO! I'm going to pursue that too.
Check the NKC site --- there are some beagle clubs in your area -- they might be more willing to try bassets -- most AKC clubs, particularly brace beagle types, would not consider joining AHBA.
i would not say it is the path of least resistance, beagle hunters can be very breed loyal. at our club we work very well together, the beagle hunters help with puttting on AHBA hunts, and the basset people help at the beagle events.
good luck
Always glad to see a new club! Best of luck, let us know what we can do to help.
