What it's all about!!!!
Sunday eve about half an hor before dark...Grabbed Bullet(has been out since May)and Penny for a run...Bullet just turned 5 and Penny is just past a year...Went to a spot that was about a 30 min. ride from the house.Heard tell from a friend of mine that he saw a few young hare running around.....Icut the dogs at about 8:30PM in about 5 mins. Bullet started trailing in a cinnamon fern swamp>>>Just as he got it going good Penny chimed in and the race was on!!!! Lasted about 10 mins. and ended...hare don't usually end up like the as they don't hole up may have been a cottontail or my dogs flat out screwed up....we were walking toward the truck and Penny got real gamey by a brush pile so she and Bullet decide to maul that pile over....Out shot a hare!!!!! the dogs thought for sure they had it dead to rights in the pile but after a min or so I called them out and showed them where it went....That was a race to behold the first circle was tight than they went out of hearing twice and the third time around I picked them up in the pitch black at 10:00PM for two dogs that were pretty stale they did a great job....Litlle Penny even put the screws to Bullet on one check and he was sucking wind to catch up....It was a run any serious hound man would have enjoyed.....thru all the political mayhem my dogs can still run a rabbit..... to me that is the real deal don't loose sight of that...THIS IS THE WORD ACCORDING TO FRANK.........................TO be continued!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great story Frank. Man I wish you would write some articles. You have a great sense of humor and a truely honest grit which is fun to read in all your posts. Just to contribute. I took the new pup out sunday for a 30 minute run with the Dagger dog. Got them in some old irrigation pipes and Dagger started howling. QT didn't know what to do. For about 14 weeks old he did great. Dagger ran the wabbit in a nice tight circle with QT hot on his trail or in his face. I know it doesn't count as running rabbit for the pup, but boy was I a proud owner just to see him bustin brush with Dagger. Afer the run it was hot so we took a dip in the pond by where we hunt. Man those two dogs swimming in that murky pond crack me up. They look like they should sink, but just like a good crap they seem to float  (Made me think about when Dagger won the world hunt Ha Ha Ha). Nothing better than running dogs. It fires me up to see that pup want to hunt. He is a blast. It's a little hot to run very long around here, but I hope everyone is enjoying the summer and getting some dogs out.
